avoid the many pitfalls of divorce

Listing & Description of Resources available @ DivorceandKids.com

Kids from divorced homes come in all sizes and emotional states. Some are scarred for life, others are
well adjusted. Some have good relationships with both parents, others have been abandoned. Some are
still angry, others have learned to forgive their parents. Age and sex are a factor, but far more
important is the relationship between the parents and between the children and both parents before,
during, and after the divorce.

Georglyn Rosenfeld and Natalie Cawood, a mother/daughter team who have experienced the trauma of divorce, teach Parent Information Classes for the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County. These classes are required by law in Arizona (A.R.S. §25-352 and Administrative order No. 96-078) for any parents who file a dissolution of marriage or legal separation that involves a natural or adopted minor common to the parties.  To connect to Arizona Legislature click here. Divorce and Kids, created by Georglyn and Natalie, offers insight into how kids feel about divorce
and where to obtain information to assist families with children who are going through a divorce. Some of
the topics covered include:

bulletHow Divorce Affects Kids
bulletVisitation Guidelines

Conflict

If adults knew how truly damaging conflict and/or domestic violence is to their children they might back off and settle their differences in private rather than exposing children to the trauma of hearing their parents fight.  How well you handle the divorce transition and your own anger will affect your children far more than the divorce itself.
